When a traumatised former war reporter is hypnotized as part of a past life regression event, he awakes not with memories of a glamorous previous existence, but finds himself instead haunted by the memories of a 1980s serial killer.

Grimmfest Says: We might be a little biased, perhaps, but Grimmfest is proud and delighted to present the World Premiere of the brand new feature from festival head honchos Simeon Halligan and Rachel Richardson Jones, shot right here in Manchester. Jeremy Piven (ENTOURAGE) stars alongside Aneurin Barnard (DUNKIRK), pop star Pixie Lott, Tim McInnerny (BLACK ADDER) and Nicholas Farrell (CHARIOTS OF FIRE) in a twisted tale of regression therapy, repressed memory, mental manipulation, and an implacable serial killer from forty years in the past. An old school character-driven mystery thriller, in which nothing and no-one is quite as it seems, the film gains both emotional weight and psychological depth from linking the hapless protagonist’s escalating obsession with his possible “past life” to his own survivor’s guilt, lingering PTSD, and growing anxieties about his floundering career in the face of imminent fatherhood. Recalling at times the disorientating, claustrophobic nightmare feel of classic, creepy 1970s crime and mystery shows such as ARMCHAIR THRILLER, but with a twist of classic giallo-style POV stalk-and-slash, and a narrative nod or two to THE EYES OF LAURA MARS, it marks a welcome return behind the camera for our directors in chief, and is a screening you won’t want to miss.

Followed by a Q&A with the director and cast.
