As Christmas looms, a put-upon and sexually frustrated husband, feeling neglected by his wife following the birth of a child he has started to suspect isn’t his, makes the mistake of trying out a new “hook up” App…

Grimmfest Says: Catfishing and the Christmas holidays combine to painful effect in Daniel M. Caneiro’s queasy, uneasy, utterly outrageous (un)festive farce. Fusing a sour and cynical study of suburban male midlife crisis a la AMERICAN BEAUTY with an urban “Yuppie Nightmare” scenario that makes Scorsese’s AFTER HOURS look like a visit to MR ROGERS’ NEIGHBORHOOD, it’s not so much a comedy of errors as a comedy of terrors, by turns harrowing and hilarious, with a plot as tense, tightly-paced, and nail-bitingly gripping as any thriller. Brutal and black-hearted, morally slippery and gleefully mean-spirited, it’s the kind of uncomfortable and disturbing mix of horror and humour that the Spanish truly excel at. Fans of controversial Grimmfest 2023 hit THE COFFEE TABLE, in particular, won’t want to miss this.

Followed by a Q&A with the director.
